Smoking at Tim's

Ok, even though the subject of this post may indicate that I dipped into the part of the US-culturett  secondly most famous it is not true. I am now referring to the other smoking as in barbecue. Today I was invited to Tim, a really great guy I met and a most hospitable person. With out talking to much about people who are not here to defend themselves I can just mention that Tim is an accomplished NY based artist who is also both a player in the best meaning of the word and a gentle man as far as I can tell. His work can be found at http://www.timothyhutchings.com/ & http://www.plagmada.org/. Enough of our most gallant host.
So what we did was smoking pork ribs with cherry wood. The technical set up can be read about here: http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/how_to_turn_your_kettle_grill_into_a_smoker/
So as you can plainly see from the url, you don´t even have to click the link we used a normal round grill. It took about 3,5 hours and if we would have had better control of the temperature we could have been going even longer. But I must say that the result was very good and as everyone seemed very content with the meal I believe that all nine of us agreed. Other things that I got to try was macaroni salad which is no salad at all but cold macaroni in a mayonnaise based mixture. Good tasting pasta dish but not a salad. I also had the best coleslaw I ever tried. Now this comes naturally since I NEVER had good coleslaw before. This one was without dairy products which I dare say makes the whole difference. I must also mention the Polish sausage and rolls as well as the desert which was Ambrosia. Which although I am no fan of wiped cream or coconut was totally fine. I would like to thank everyone for the nice food although they might never read this. But now it is written down.
We did not just stand around staring at the smoke escaping the grill. No I tried several new games. Two role playing games: one called XXXX-treme street ludge where you are a street ludger whit striking resemblance to Vin Diesel in three respects. Funny but maybe not that repetitive. The other called Primitive does sum up it's system with it's name. Although that is not the meaning of the game but rather not getting to speak to the other players. You all play pre-language primitive humans, and every day is a struggle for survival. It was also great fun, but I guess it could take very different forms played under different circumstances. I was also introduced to Jungle Speed. And that is an awesome game that I could probably play for hours. I would even like to see a TV-show whit people playing Jungle Speed. It is a recognize and grab trinket card game and I will not explain it further because I do not think that I can.
